Meet the chiropractors

Dr. Freddie Powell D.C
MChiro, LRCC
Founder & Doctor of Chiropractic

Registered with the GCC and the UCA.

I’ve been practicing as a chiropractor for over 15 years, and I feel truly grateful to work in a profession that embraces both the physical and spiritual sides of health. My passion is helping people experience lasting change not just in their symptoms, but in every aspect of their wellbeing.

I especially enjoy supporting clients with chronic conditions, where ongoing chiropractic care can create profound shifts in energy, movement, and quality of life. I also love working with our regular wellness members, who incorporate chiropractic into their lifestyle to keep their nervous systems balanced, resilient, and thriving.

As a husband and father of two, my family benefits from chiropractic care, and we aim to live as naturally as possible. I treasure watching my children grow, and our summers are often spent exploring in our campervan. Travel has been a big part of my life from Central and South America to India and Nepal and I always feel most at home outdoors, immersed in nature.

I’m committed to continually refining my craft, learning from the leading minds in chiropractic so I can deliver the highest quality care. My advice is simple: find a chiropractor you connect with, who is skilled, always learning, and genuinely passionate about what they do. That combination makes all the difference in your health outcomes.

After working in diverse settings from overseas clinics to professional sport my true passion has always been caring for families. That’s why I founded ZOIA Chiropractic: to create a wellness practice that combines quality chiropractic care with movement, nutrition, and mental and spiritual wellbeing.

At ZOIA, my mission is straightforward: to enhance the human experience and help local families live healthier, happier lives.

Dr. Yasmin McIsted D.C
MChiro
Doctor of Chiropractic

Registered with the GCC and the BCA.

Yasmin graduated from AECC University College with a Master’s degree in chiropractic. Yasmin decided to become a chiropractor after after treatment by a local chiropractor which alleviated years of pain from dancing and netball.

Whilst still at university, Yasmin decided to broaden her treatment capabilities by qualifying as a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist in 2019.

Yasmin is a kind and caring professional who always puts the care of her patients first.

Whilst growing up in Torbay, Yasmin was a part of a local dance school and netball teams, and can’t wait to rejoin those teams now she is back in Devon!

Dr. Helena Cope D.C
MChiro
Doctor of Chiropractic

Registered with the GCC and the BCA.

Helena grew up in Teignmouth before earning a First-Class Master’s degree from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. After five years of living and working in London, she took a six-month sabbatical to travel through South America and has now been drawn back to her Devon roots.

Chiropractic care has always been a central part of Helena’s own wellbeing growing up, and is now in her element being able to give back what she received. Her treatments are tailored to each individual, combining techniques such as spinal manipulation, joint mobilisation, exercise rehabilitation, IASTM, dry needling, and a range of soft tissue therapies. She has enjoyed working with people of all ages and backgrounds—from competitive athletes and professional dancers at the O2, to the everyday desk worker.

Helena is passionate about continual learning and regularly undertakes professional development courses. She has a special interest in pregnancy care, with advanced training such as the Webster Technique that allows her to support women confidently throughout each stage of their journey. She is also currently expanding her skills into paediatrics, enabling her to care for both mums and their babies.

With over a decade of personal experience in strength training, Helena understands the importance of optimal body function for performance and injury prevention—whether you’re an athlete or simply want to move better in everyday life. She’s recently taken up newer sports such as Padel and Reformer Pilates, always exploring new ways to challenge the body and improve health.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Reception role at Zoia Chiropractic for nearly 5 years now.

I love meeting and greeting our patients, welcoming them into Zoia and making them feel comfortable and at ease during the Tuesday and Saturday morning clinics.
