Founded in 1963 as the Sykes Verwey Centre, our clinic has served the community for generations. In 2025, we reimagined the practice as ZOIA Chiropractic — reflecting a broader vision of wholebeing wellness across body, mind, and spirit.
The name ZOIA comes from the Greek word zōē, meaning “life.” Our logo reinterprets this through flowing, mirrored curves — echoing butterfly wings — to symbolise transformation, rhythm, and connection. It represents our belief that small, meaningful shifts can spark powerful change.
At ZOIA, health is not simply the absence of pain, but the presence of growth, renewal, and connection. Our tagline, “Enhancing the Human Experience,” captures this philosophy. Through chiropractic care, movement, and conscious living, we help people reconnect with their body’s natural rhythm and vitality.
With over 10,000 clients served, we’re proud to continue building a community devoted to natural health, mindful living, and personal growth.

At ZOIA, we actively promote wholebeing wellness. Chiropractic care forms the foundation — a natural approach that supports the body’s ability to function and adapt at its best by helping regulate and coordinate the nervous system.
We also nurture health beyond the adjustment through The ZOIA Studio, offering yoga, meditation, and community events to support balance, awareness, and connection. Our goal is to move beyond symptom relief to help each person live a life of purpose and vitality.
At ZOIA Chiropractic, we share a vitalistic approach to health — one that honours the body’s innate capacity to adapt, restore, and heal when given the right conditions.
Our philosophy is grounded in three guiding principles:
These ideas reflect a simple truth: when we cut ourselves, we heal. When we rest, we recover. The body’s intelligence coordinates countless processes every second — naturally and without conscious thought.
Chiropractic recognises and supports this inner wisdom by helping maintain balance and clear communication through the nervous system.

Within chiropractic, the term “subluxation” is often used to describe areas of the spine that may not be moving or functioning optimally — sometimes also referred to as spinal restrictions.
These subtle changes in spinal motion or alignment may influence how the body feels and adapts to everyday stress. Chiropractors use gentle, specific adjustments to help restore healthy movement and balance, aiming to support optimal function and overall wellbeing.
Many chiropractors describe life’s stresses as the Three T’s:
These everyday stressors can influence how the body feels and functions, sometimes creating patterns of tension or imbalance in the spine and nervous system.
Chiropractic adjustments aim to support better movement and coordination, helping the body respond more freely and efficiently to life’s demands.
The nervous system is the body’s master communication network — connecting the brain, body, and every cell in between. When it functions freely, the body can move, adapt, and express health more effectively.
Chiropractors are trained to assess the spine and related structures that may affect this communication. Through gentle, specific adjustments, chiropractic care aims to restore better movement, reduce tension, and support overall wellbeing.
Pain is not the enemy — it is a signal that something may need attention. Listening to these signals allows us to support the body’s ability to self-regulate and return towards balance.
At ZOIA Chiropractic, our focus goes beyond short-term relief. We help you understand your body, recognise patterns, and support long-term adaptability and vitality.
Whether you visit us for a specific concern or as part of your ongoing wellbeing routine, our goal is to help you feel connected, resilient, and in tune with your own healing potential.
