A body during pregnancy goes through enormous changes physically, mentally and hormonally. We are here to help support this transition whether you are just looking for support for optimal alignment or helping with pregnancy related discomfort.
Chiropractic care is a safe, drug-free, effective, and non-invasive treatment option for managing pain during pregnancy and is encouraged to be looked after through each trimester.
As your body adapts, several natural changes can contribute to discomfort, including:
- Changes in posture as your bump grows
- Softening of ligaments due to hormonal changes
- Increased load on the lower back, hips, and pelvis
- Altered gait patterns, especially later in pregnancy
How Chiropractic Care Can Support You
- Pelvic balance: Ensuring the joints, muscles, and ligaments are balanced. There is a specific well-known method Webster Technique that creates this.
- Pain relief: Chiropractic care may help ease areas of tension by using gentle adjustments and soft-tissue methods so you can move more comfortably as your body adapts.
- Encouraging Relaxation and Wellbeing: Hands-on care can be calming and supportive, helping you feel more at ease physically and emotionally.
We have a pregnancy pillow to provide optimum comfort at your appointment.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your Chiropractor will:
- Take a full pregnancy-focused history

What is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis & adjustment that reduces nervous system stress, balances pelvic bones, muscles and ligaments and optimizes the mother’s pelvic function in pregnancy and birth.
Torsion in the pelvis may contribute to difficult labor for the mother, correction of sacrum (base of the spine) may have a positive effect and may optimise space for the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.
All our Chiropractors are qualified to treat pregnant clients. Dr Helena DC has completed the Webster certification through the ICPA
